About Bethany
Bethany Clark is a writer, editor, and strategic communications consultant who after many years working behind the scenes in the publishing industry found herself as the chief manager of snacks for a small child. Her debut children’s picture book You’ve Got Yoghurt In Your Nostrils is a joyous celebration of the glorious mess babies create when they learn to eat and is published by Affirm Press. Her second picture book, which is a fun take on emotional intelligence for both toddlers and parents, is currently in production. She lives in Adelaide with her husband and son where she can still be found making books in between catering continuous picnics and endless degustation menus for a myriad of small folk.
Bethany has a long-held passion for sharing books and stories, particularly those of Australian creatives, which has seen her take on as many book-related roles as possible across her career. She was the program manager for Writers SA for five years and has also worked as a business development consultant, arts administrator, project manager, publicist, event manager, editor, copyeditor and proofreader. She has delivered programs and projects for many national reading initiatives including the Australian Children’s Laureate, the National Year of Reading, Love2Read, the Reading Hour, the Big & Little Book Clubs, Books Alive and the Australia Council for the Art’s Get Reading! program, and she has worked with a wide array of emerging and established writers, arts organisations, and publishing houses.
Becoming a children’s author herself is just the next stage in her long-standing commitment to sharing good stories and promoting a life-long love of reading.
